A Dreamy Luxe Lavender Shoot

Draw inspiration from this stylized shoot by Adorn Invitations for a rustic bohemian style wedding.

It’s still funny to think that this shoot derived from a theme which included a colour palette of oxblood and a tatted-up raven-haired bride. As most brides will find on their own wedding day, the final look can often wander from the initial mood board, but it’s so important to let this process happen.

Our brooding forest themed day eventually evolved into a lilac fairytale, however at the heart of the shoot, our team wanted to create something that hadn’t been done before. We also wanted a style that was easily accessible to a variety of brides and their unique styles. Our key objective was to harmonize Bohemian influences with more minimal and romantic details.

Our cow skull motif and perhaps the mascot of the entire shoot – is the perfect example of how we achieved this balance! A somewhat avant-garde piece for the bridal world, we brought the skull to life in our new theme by embellishing him with more feminine details such as lace, pearls and diamantes.

Organic semi-precious stones were scattered around a table arrangement of wild flowers and were paired with sleek metallic lines, reminiscent of the art-deco area. Geometric vases were positioned throughout the greenery and helped give structure amongst the chaos. Crystal glasses were sourced to give forth a lavish component and these were paired with satin ribbons for a whimsical touch.

Brides can recreate their own boho-lux lavender shoot by sticking to a colour palette of vivid lilacs, muted lavenders, blush and golds. Look for locations with French-Provincial nuances yet which feature natural and organic décor details. Our shoot location at Sault featured a charming façade, yet boasted timber wood and limestone walls – the perfect balance!

Look for eccentric décor details such as our cow skull centerpiece and semi-precious stones, and when creating your own look, go for low-fi, loose fitting gowns and stunning lace detailing’s. An outdoor reception with Moroccan ottomans and shaggy rugs will also serve as a comfortable and dreamy setting for your high tea buffet.
