Paint the Town

Luis Croasdaile, “Note and Love” Oil, 34½” x 43½”

Orlando means different things to different people—especially artists. We put out a call to local artists to send us their paintings, photographs, sculptures and other artworks inspired by their visions of Orlando for this year’s Paint the Town contest.

The winning entries that appear on the next six pages are just a sample of the 70 winners selected by our judges: Jeffrey Shonkwiler, director of Gallery at Avalon Island; Robin Van “R.V.” Arsdol, owner of Realm54 art studio; and Jason Jones, Jay Boyar and Jenna Carberg of this magazine.

All the winning entries will be included in our ninth annual Paint the Town art show (and you can see them all at orlandomagazine.com). The free exhibit opens March 17 at the Gallery at Avalon Island.

WHAT: Paint the Town Exhibition
WHEN: March 17 to April 15
WHERE: Gallery at Avalon Island, 39 S. Magnolia Ave., Orlando
OPENING PARTY: March 17, 6-9 p.m., during the Third Thursday gallery stroll
