AVALON PARK July 4 This traditional celebration includes an apple pie bake-off, a hot-dog eating contest, and fireworks. 5 p.m., with fireworks beginning at 9. Free. Five miles south of S.R. 408 off Alafaya Trail. 407-658-6565. avalonpark.com
BALDWIN PARK July 1 This event will have a hometown feel with vendors from 4-10 p.m. on New Broad Street and fireworks taking place at 9 p.m. off of Lake Baldwin, downtown Baldwin Park. 407-745-9345.

CENTRAL FLORIDA ZOO June 30 and July 1 Red, White and ZOO will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and will feature animal encounters, live music, games, food and children’s crafts. 3755 U.S. 17-92, Sanford. centralfloridazoo.org
THEME PARKS July 4 Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando will have festivities and fireworks, starting between 9 and 10 p.m. Included with admission. disneyworld.disney.go.com; universalorlando.com; seaworldorlando.com
ORLANDO July 4 The city’s annual Fireworks at the Fountain offers entertainment, food and a kids area. 4–10 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:30. Free. Lake Eola Park, 195 N. Rosalind Ave. 407-246-3104. cityoforlando.net
WINTER GARDEN July 4 The Party in the Park will celebrate with live music, family activities, food and fireworks. Begins at 5 p.m., fireworks at 9:15.  Free. Newton Park, 29 W. Garden Ave. wintergarden-fl.gov
WINTER PARK July 4 An old-fashioned party in the park presents the Bach Festival Brass Band and Choir performing patriotic music, horse-drawn wagon rides, live entertainment and children’s activities. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Free. Central Park, Park Avenue, Winter Park. 407-599-3203. cityofwinterpark.org
