The Bride Amanda Forbes, 29, is a public relations senior account executive at Fry Hammond Barr.
The Groom Alexandre Mestdagh, 35, is an attorney at Mestdagh & Wall, P.A.
How They Met The couple met at Fiddler’s Green, an Irish pub in Winter Park. Both were there to watch a 2010 World Cup soccer match with friends, and Amanda and Alex ended up sharing dessert. But the USA team lost, and they went their separate ways. As fate would have it, however, they ran into each other at Starbucks in Thornton Park the next morning. They talked and had an instant connection.
Their Engagement Both Amanda and Alex love to travel, so it was only natural that Alex would propose on a weeklong trip to the West Coast. “It was in Portland [Oregon] on the second day of the trip that we hiked Multnomah Falls, just outside the city. It was a gorgeous day,” Amanda says. “As we got to the top of the waterfall, Alex proposed.”
Their Wedding The couple opted for a contemporary-style wedding, with their reception at the classic Citrus Club.

Getting to hold hands without seeing each other before the ceremony; that was an amazing feeling.” —Amanda
