This Cinco de Mayo, Cocina 214—Central Florida’s famed Tex-Mex restaurant, is hosting its seventh annual Running of the Chihuahuas at its Winter Park location. This family-friendly event invites locals, visitors and pet lovers alike to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the beloved Chihuahua run, fresh margaritas, authentic Tex-Mex cuisine and festive delights. Proceeds from the run will benefit Winter Park Lost Pets, and the Poodles and Pooch Rescue of Florida. The event will also feature drink specials such as $5 214 Rocks with Sauza, $3 bottled Coronas, $5 Hornitos Flo'Rita, $7 Hornitos Plata, $7 Tito's Lonestar Lemonade and $10 Loaded Coronas with Mi Campo. Lucky’s Market is featuring a number of sales leading up to the holiday, including one that is sure to be extra popular: avocados 2 for $1. In fact, Americans eat 81 million pounds of avocados on Cinco de Mayo, making the fruit one of the hottest items to celebrate with. The grocer will also have spicy sales on salsa, tortilla chips, guacamole, bean dips, Corona, margarita mixes and more. Skip the crowds and party at home!
Just in time to welcome Cinco de Mayo, Central Florida’s most popular purveyor of fresh and tasty tamales will open a brand-new brick and mortar location, Tamale Co. Hourglass, on Sunday, May 5, in the Hourglass Social House on Curry Ford Road. The 1,300-square-foot restaurant is an open dining concept housed in the relaxed, shared space also occupied by Foxtail Coffee and Vegan eatery Leguminati, with in-restaurant seating and a beautiful outdoor patio. Tamale Co. models a modern yet traditional Mexican décor and incorporates pre-Hispanic cooking utensils and equipment to give guests an idea of the art of tamale making. Tamale Co. Hourglass will feature top tamale favorites from the food truck, plus an expanded menu, Mexican-style street food representing Chef Fernando and wife Jennifer’s hometown and roots, and the location will also serve solely Mexican craft beer and imports, wine, mixed drinks, sangria and mimosas.
Head on over to Boxi Park in Lake Nona for the ultimate Cinco de Mayo fiesta. On Sunday, May 5 they’ll be celebrating all things tacos and tequila. Boxi Park’s Cinco de Mayo event features:

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is taking things up a notch and celebrating Cinco de Mayo all month long. The upscale steakhouse is partnering with Tequila Ocho, an ultra-premium single estate & single vintage tequila, and Baccarat, the world-renowned fine crystal manufacturer to offer a $100 Prime Margarita beginning May 1 through the rest of the month. The $100 Margarita is handcrafted with ultimate premium liquors, including Tequila Ocho Extra Anejo La Latilla (valued at well over $100) and Grand Marnier Cuvee du Centenaire and is garnished with a lime wheel and pineapple leaves. Served in Baccarat's uniquely designed Diamant Tumbler (valued at well over $100), guests will take home the glass in Baccarat's iconic red box.
