Morning Star Catholic School

Map930 Leigh Ave.
Orlando, FL 32804

For nearly 60 years , Morning Star Catholic School has been providing children with unique abilities the opportunity to embrace their full potential — spiritually, academically, socially, physically, and emotionally. Founded in 1960 by the Sisters of St. Joseph and Archbishop Joseph Hurley of the Diocese of St. Augustine, Morning Star Catholic School has educated more than 2,000 Orlando area children.
Classes centered on reading, math, and language arts are taught by a team of loving, dedicated teachers, using Unique Learning Systems, a complete standards-based curriculum program designed specifically for students with special learning needs. Students learn about God and Jesus and prepare for the Sacraments, if applicable, through the adaptive religion program, Finding God.
Beyond the academic foundation, Morning Star Catholic School has a broad and varied program of activities including computer instruction, adaptive physical education, speech development, social skills training, outings and field trips, Boys and Girls Club, “Best Buddies” program, a program that pairs up high school students from Bishop Moore Catholic High School and Morning Star students of the same age, and other activities such as Special Olympics, which get our students involved within their communities.
We also partner with community organizations such as Winter Park Health Foundation, Nemours, Planet Fitness, and Youth Basketball of America to provide our students with a well-rounded education.
Morning Star Catholic School offers students a unique learning environment in that it is part of a larger community, sharing a campus with St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School and Bishop Moore Catholic High School.
Lastly, Morning Star works with Orange County Public Schools to deliver therapy to qualified students. For those who do not qualify, there is a partnership with therapists on site that serve students in speech, occupational, physical, behavioral, and music therapies.
