OMG! Txt-o-graf Is So Cool. :)

A picture is worth a thousand words – and in this case it really is! My friend turned me on to text-o-graphs when she decided to have one done for her husband’s wedding gift. Textographer.com specializes in creating pictures made from text. In three easy steps you can design, order and upload a photo and any text you want (vows, poems, lyrics to your first dance or guests names) to create your original piece of art. Professional artists break down the image replacing it with your text so that it mimics the original photo. Options start at $40 and are offered in black and white or color. Wedding Day Transport

Wedding Day Transport

Golf carts, horse drawn carriages, limos, antique cars, Vespas, luxury motor coaches and  hot air balloons– there are a lot of fun and creative transportation options to consider for your  wedding. Here are a few considerations to keep in mind, though: You’re likely to be charged hourly (anywhere from $40-$75/hour, depending on type of vehicle and number of passengers), and a minimum number of hours and vehicles may be required; it’s customary to tip each driver – 15-20% is appropriate – with cash; and, most importantly, if your wedding date falls during high school prom season (usually May-June), be sure to book your transportation at least 4-5 months in advance. Search transportation vendors in your area on WeddingWire.com

Wedding Jewelry by Bridori Designs

Wedding Jewelry by Bridori Designs

My advice for accessorizing with jewelry on wedding day is always to keep it classic, sophisticated and simple. With a similar philosophy in mind, Orlando-based Bridori Designs co-owners Bridgette Cahill and Tiffany Foley sought to bring creative and unique pieces to brides that would perfectly accentuate any wedding attire (bridesmaid and flower girl jewelry also available). Each hand-crafted piece is made with Swarovski crystals and pearls, combined with sterling silver and gold-filled accents. I fell in love with their Bella Luna necklace (pictured here) at a recent show. Bridal collection ranges from $45-$285. Visit BridoriDesigns.com

Song Selection

Song Selection

For those of us who love music, selecting the perfect wedding day tunes is very important. So you can imagine how thrilled I was to find hihiweddings.com. This free website provides artists and songs to help brides and grooms gather inspiration and compile personalized wedding day playlists (to be given to a DJ, band or other music provider). Hi-Fi Weddings is the perfect place to figure out a song for first dances, father/daughter dances or filler music. Be prepared to spend some time: You’ll want to listen to all the cool tracks on this site.

Bank on This Idea

Bank on This Idea

Believe it or not I found the new wedding must-have–a piggy bank–while searching for decorative accessories to go in my newborn son’s room. I know what you’re thinking, so hold on and let me explain. Speechless Studios hand-makes each Memory Bank (aka piggy bank) as a slip-cast ceramic figure with a white glaze.  Guests can put in it notes, stories or even pictures for the bride and groom to look at on their first anniversary while enjoying a freezer-burned cake topper. I thought this was such a cute idea to have at weddings – it’s a modern twist on the guestbook. The Memory Banks come with a cork in the bottom (to save the piggy’s life when it’s time to retrieve its contents) or without a cork for a more dramatic opening. Memory...

Dubsdread: A Great Space

Dubsdread: A Great Space

Historic Dudsdread Ballroom is one of my top five wedding venue picks. It never disappoints! I have enjoyed many events- weddings and other functions - over the years and just attended yet another wonderful wedding there. The ceremony was outside on the patio, with the city-owned Dubsdread golf course and a large live oak tree with hanging moss providing the most beautiful backdrop (and if there had been inclement weather there were indoor alternatives for the ceremony and reception, a must when planning outdoor events). As usual the food provided by Dubsdread's Tap Room restaurant was delicious and the staff was personable. The ballroom inside exudes an old country club charm. The whole place is unpretentious; you just feel at home here. For more information visit HistoricDubsdread.com...
