Friday:

Alive After Five Street Party – Sanford – 5 p.m.

Central Florida’s largest recurring free street party is a two-day event this month, with Oktoberfest as the theme. These monthly gatherings in Sanford’s historic downtown district feature live music, local artists, and both food and beverage samples. For more info: sanfordwelcomecenter.com

Art & Music in the Park – Casselberry – 6 p.m.

Artwork and live music in the park between Casselberry City Hall and Lake Concord. Food trucks and other vendors on site as well. For more info: casselberry.org

Mount Dora Splash – Downtown Mount Dora – 6 p.m.

A festive evening of sidewalk artists, performers and live music in downtown Mount Dora, designed to showcase the work of regional artists on display at several local venues. For more info: mountdoracenterforthearts.org

Saturday:

Oktoberfest – Downtown Orlando – 11:30 a.m.

Guests are invited to celebrate inside Orange County Brewers taproom and throughout the back patio space, as they are transported to Germany with live music, tasty German food staples, refreshing bier mugs filled to the brim, games, costume contests and fun photo opportunities for the family and furry friends all afternoon and evening long. Come Out with Pride Festival – Lake Eola Park – noon to 10 p.m.

Celebrating the LGBTQ community, the annual event—this year’s theme is “Keep Dancing Orlando”— runs from noon to 10 p.m. and features more than 100 vendors, entertainment and food. The highlight is a colorful parade in the afternoon. For more info: comeoutwithpride.com

Classical Mystery Tour: A Tribute to the Beatles – Bob Carr Theatre – 2 & 8 p.m.

Music Director Eric Jacobsen leads the Philharmonic in this program, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and includes original members of the Broadway sensation Beatlemania performing 30 Beatles hits as they were originally recorded. FSYO Orchestra Season Opener – Dr. Phillips Center – 4 p.m.

Featured guest artist Thomas Potter (Baritone) will perform Mahler's Liedereines fahrenden Gesellen (Songs of aWayfarer) accompanied by the FSYO Symphonic Orchestra. Sunday:

Will's A Faire Fall Market – Will's Pub – 1 p.m.

This single-day retro, vintage, local and handmade market has live music, food trucks plus fun indoors and out is back for fall at Will's Pub. Each vendor will be collecting donations for hurricane relief with proceeds helping storm victims. For more info: facebook.com/events/1292104527578260

Russian String Orchestra – Winter Park – 3 p.m.

Book Release Party – Broken Cauldren Taproom – 2:30 to 5 p.m.

Southern Women's Show – Orange County Convention Center – Fri to Sun

Enjoy fashion shows, cooking demos, health screenings, makeovers and more at this 27th annual event. Olympic medalist Laurie Hernandez kicks off the show on Oct. 12, and singer/cookbook author Patti LaBelle wraps it up on Oct. 15. For more info: southernwomensshows.com

Renaissance Festival of Central Florida – Bill Frederick Park – Sat & Sun

This year’s festival extends over five days and two weekends. It features re-creations and re-enactments from Europe’s 14th to 17th centuries, with kings and queens, lords and ladies, knights and nobles, pirates and even some fairies, elves, trolls and dragons. There’s a daily jousting tournament, a children’s area with petting zoo, and after 5 p.m. a music festival for adults. 10 a.m.-11 p.m. For more info: renfestcfl.ticketleap.com

The Odd Couple – The Garden Theatre – Fri to Sun

It's opening weekend for Neil Simon's classic play about what happens when opposite personalities live together. The show will be performed in rep with both male and female versions on opening weekend, and alternating weekends thereafter. For tickets and more info: gardentheatre.org/events/plays

America's Cake Fair – Orange County Convention Center – Fri to Sun

It's the largest public trade and consumer show in North and South America dedicated to cake, chocolate and sugar arts. Thousands of baking professionals, industry buyers, pastry chefs, cake artists, retail bakers, hobbyists and everyday foodies from around the world are expected to attend the threeday celebration of cake, hosted by Satin Ice. Evil Dead: The Musical – Moonlight Players Theatre – Fri to Sun

In this comedic take on the 1980s horror franchise, characters and demons sing and dance to songs written specifically for the musical. This show features a "splatter zone" in the first three rows, and on Friday October, 13 will be partnering with OneBlood for a blood drive event. For tickets and more info: moonlightplayers.com
