Pechakucha Night Orlando v22 – Dr. Phillips Center – 6 p.m.

Drawing its name from the Japanese term for “chitchat,” this night of learning rests on a simple idea—20 images in 20 seconds—keeping the presentations concise and moving rapidly. This event’s theme is “Rise Up.” For tickets and more info: drphillipscenter.org

Culture Pop! – Maitland Art Center – 6 to 9 p.m.

Movie Night – Leu Gardens – 6 p.m.

Sonny's Smokin' Showdown – Camping World Stadium – 11 a.m.

This all-day event hosts one of the nation’s biggest barbeque competitions with more than 50 nationwide pit masters participating and features live music, food vendors, a kid zone, a rib-eating contest and cooking demonstrations for barbeque enthusiasts. Wild Kratts Live – Bob Carr Theater – 1 p.m.

Book Launch Party – Barley and Vine Biergarten – 1 to 3 p.m.

Cinderella Shops Bloomindales – The Mall at Millenia – 1 to 4 p.m.

Orlando Boat Show – Orange County Convention Center – Fri to Sun

Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival – Sunshine Grove – Thurs to Mon

Florida Strawberry Festival – Plant City – Thurs through Mar. 11

Gasparilla Festival of the Arts – Tampa – Sat & Sun
